Greenwich Man Is Facing Fugitive From Justice Charge

Police found the suspect after he spun off a road during the snowstorm Monday night.

A man who Greenwich Police came to help after he spun off West Putnam Avenue during the snowstorm Monday night is facing a fugitive from justice charge.

Police came to the aid of the driver who spun off the road near 777 W. Putnam Avenue just before 8 p.m. Jan. 26 and when officers checked his driver’s license, they found there was an extraditable warrant issued by police in Delaware, according to a police report.

Delaware State Police confirmed the warrant and that they would extradite the man who was wanted on charges violation of probation, failure to appear and drug charges, according to the police report.

George H. Hamilton, 55, of 104 Pemberwick Rd., was arrested on the fugitive from justice charge. He was held in lieu of $25,000 bond, according to the report.
