Greenwich Man Gets Jail Time for Burglaries, Thefts

A Greenwich man who was arrested in connection with at least a half-dozen burglary and theft cases will serve at least three years in jail after pleading guilty to most of the charges, according to court records.

Robert Wolterstorff, 21, of 54 N. Old Stone Bridge Rd., had been facing a litany of charges stemming from incidents dating back to 2011. 

According to the Connecticut Judicial Branch, Wolterstorff was found guilty of nine charges ranging from third-degree burglary and credit card theft to evading responsibility, charges stemming from warrants obtained by Greenwich Police.

Here's the breakdown on the charges, according to the Judicial Branch:
  • Third-degree burglary for a Jan. 10, 2012 incident; plead guilty; sentenced to one year in jail.
  • Second-degree larceny for a May 19, 2012 incident; plead guilty; sentenced to one year in jail.
  • Third-degree burglary for an April 17, 2013 incident; plead nolo contendre; sentenced to one year in jail.
  • Credit card theft for a May 4, 2013 incident; plead guilty; sentenced to one year in jail.
  • Second-degree burglary for a July 16, 2013 incident; plead guilty; sentenced to nine years in jail, suspended after three years, and three years probation.
  • Sixth-degree larceny for a July 29, 2011 incident; plead guilty; sentenced to 90 days in jail.
  • Third-degree larceny for a July 25, 2011 incident; plead nolo contendre; sentenced to one year in jail.
  • Two counts of evading responsibility for a Jan. 4, 2011 incident; plead guilty; sentenced to one year on each count.
