Greenwich Police Warn of Solicitation Scam
Someone is pretending to be Police Chief James Heavey and asking for donations.

GREENWICH, CT — Police Chief James Heavey is warning the community about a scam call from someone pretending to be him.
Several residents have reported getting a call from the impostor who is asking for monetary solicitations, Heavey said.
“This is an unlawful solicitation that is not sanctioned or endorsed by the police department," he said.

Heavey urged anyone who receives phone calls to call police at their tip line 203-622-3333 or email tips@greenwichct.org. Police are hoping to get a phone number used in the scam.
