Greenwich Selectmen to Appoint New Board Member
The selectmen are scheduled to fill the vacancy created by the death of Selectman Dave Theis.

The Greenwich Board of Selectmen will hold a special meeting Wednesday to appoint a successor to the late Republican Selectman Dave Theis.
Theis, who served on the board for five years, unexpectedly died on Dec. 23, leaving a void on the three-member board.
Republican First Selectman Peter Tesei and Democrat Drew Marzullo are required by law to appoint a successor from the same political party within 30 days of the vacancy.

The board will meet at 10 a.m. Jan. 14 in the Town Hall Meeting Room. The appointee, who will serve out the remainder of Theis’s term that expires in December, will be sworn in by Town Clerk Carmella Budkins.
Both men have been interviewing candidates who are both current and former members of the Representative Town Meeting and other elected town boards as well as non-governmental or elected officials, Marzullo told Greenwich Patch last week.
