Greenwich State Rep. Camillo Receives 3 State Endorsements

Connecticut Realtors, the AFSCME Council 15 and the National Federation of Independent Business have endorsed the Republican's reelection.

Three-term state Rep. Fred Camillo (R-151) has received reelection endorsements from three state organizations including the Connecticut Realtors and the AFSCME Council 15.

Camillo, of Old Greenwich, is running unopposed for the state house seat he has held since 2008.

In its endorsement, Council 15 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees wrote, “It is our firm belief that your election to the State Legislature is in the best interests of the residents of Connecticut as well as our thousands of members who serve as sworn police officers throughout the State.”

Camillo said, “ I am once again honored to be endorsed by the Connecticut Council of Police, AFSCME Council 15. As public safety has been a major focus of mine at the State Capitol, this endorsement by a respected law enforcement organization is one that I am especially proud of. As a “protector of those who protect “, the Connecticut Council of Police continues to represent thousands of men and women in blue who safeguard the people of our state every day, without fail.”

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Connecticut SAFE Trust (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Committee also endorsed Camillo. “Your voting record over the last two legislative sessions on key issues important to small business indicated that you will continue to be committed to the needs of thousands of Main Street small businesses and their employees in Connecticut when you are re-elected to serve in Hartford. Thank you for standing with us on the issues important to small business,” the NFIB wrote in its endorsement.

“The nation’s and Connecticut’s leading business association, NFIB continues to represent thousands of small businesses in state capitols around the nation as well as in Hartford. I am proud to stand with them and their members to ensure that their voice is never muted,” Camillo said.

The Connecticut Realtors wrote in their endorsement, “our association has voted to endorse your candidacy for House district 151. We carefully evaluate candidates in determining who may best ensure there is a positive environment for living in or transferring property in Connecticut.”

Of receiving the Realtors’ endorsement, Camillo said, “The Connecticut Realtors are, year in and year out, a crucial economic driver in our state’s economy. Their strong advocacy of this vital sector is both appreciate and very much needed. I am honored to once again be endorsed by them and look forward to working alongside them in Hartford to make sure that the state’s real estate industry remains strong and vibrant.”
