Greenwich Woman Avoids Jail Time in Larceny Case

The case involved stealing money from a housekeeper who broke a fixture in the woman's home.

A Greenwich woman received a one-year jail sentence that was suspended, after she pleaded guilty to stealing nearly $3,000 from her maid last year, according to a report.

Shari Lampert, 56, pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree larceny and driving while under the influence on Tuesday in state Superior Court in Stamford, according to Hearst Connecticut Media Group. Lampert also was sentenced to three years probation, perform 100 hours of community service, and receive substance abuse and mental health evaluations, by Judge Gary White, according to the report

Lampert was arrested last July in connection with an argument she had with a housekeeper who apparently broke a fixture in Lampert’s Old Mill Road home. Lampert was accused of brandishing a golf club at the maid and stealing money from the woman as restitution for the broken item, Greenwich Police said at the time.
