Greenwich Woman Faces Assault Charge

The suspect is accused of assaulting an elderly victim while in a moving car.

A 37-year-old woman is facing assault and disorderly conduct charges after Greenwich Police say they witnessed an argument that turned physical while inside a car.

Donna Patafio, of 15 Scofield St., Cos Cob, was arrested about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday by officers who went to the area of Bertolf Road to search for Patafio, according to a police report. The officers had “an active pick up order from the State of Connecticut Department of Corrections under the Division of Parole,” according to the report.

When detectives arrived in the neighborhood, they “observed an active verbal dispute between two females, in a moving motor vehicle, which later resulted in a physical altercation,” according to the report.

Police described the other woman as elderly. They charged Patafio with third-degree assault on the elderly and disorderly conduct.

According to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website, Patafio, who has several convictions for disorderly conduct, escape and violation of parole, was held in lieu of $1,000 bond. She is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 20 in state Superior Court in Stamford, according to judicial records.
