Harold R. Holmyard Jr., 92; Broker, Investment Advisor
Harold Roy Holmyard Jr., died in Greenwich, on April 27, 2014. He was 92.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 15, 1922 to Ellen Webb and Harold Roy Holmyard. He attended The Wyoming School in Wyoming, Ohio and graduated from Williams College with the Class of 1944 after serving as a commissioned Naval aviator during World War II.
He began his career at Champion Spark Plugs and later worked at Libby Owens Corning before entering the world of investment management. He was a broker and investment advisor with Hayden Stone, Newhart and Cook, and, most recently, Gabelli Asset Management Company.
He was a member of The Weeburn Country Club of Darien, The Field Club and The Belle Haven Club of Greenwich, and The River Club of New York City. He served as a Board member of the Coalition for a Secure Drivers License.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alexandra Todd Holmyard; two children: Harold Roy Holmyard III of Dallas, Texas and Page Ellen Ferrell of West Palm Beach, Florida; and two step-daughters: Alexandra Tanner of Old Greenwich, Connecticut and Fredericka Tanner of Sudbury, Massachusetts; five grandchildren: William B. Ferrell III of Bradenton, Florida, Graham S. Anderson of West Palm Beach, Florida, Jacob F. Levinson of London, England, Matthew A. Levinson of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Alec B.. Russell of Boston, Massachusetts; and a great-grandson William B. Ferrell IV of Bradenton, Florida.
He was pre-deceased by his younger brother Mark A. Fuller of Ashville, North Carolina and his grandson Robert B. Ferrell of West Palm Beach, Florida.
A celebration of his life will be held at a future date to be determined.
