"How to Live With a Cartoonist" Is Topic of Church Program Nov. 18

Jerry Dumas of Greenwich will tell "How to Live With a Cartoonist" in a program at Second Congregational Church on Nov. 18.


Greenwich resident Jerry Dumas, a cartoonist, columnist writer and essayist, will discuss “How to Live With a Cartoonist” on Nov. 18 at 10:45 a.m. at Second Congregational Church, at 139 E. Putnam Ave. in Greenwich. He will speak at a program sponsored by The Women’s Fellowship of the church. A luncheon will follow. The cost of the luncheon is $8.

Dumas lives with his wife, Gail. They have three sons and a granddaughter.

The cartoonist and writer will talk about professional and personal aspects of his successful and varied career. Dumas, whose accomplishments include creating the Sam and Silo comic strip, has written and drawn many comic strips, some by himself and some working with others. He is a Greenwich Time columnist, and his drawing, writing and poetry have appeared in publications including Smithsonian, The Atlantic, The New York Times, The New Yorker and The Washington Post. Dumas also has published four books.
