A Little Red in Greenwich for Valentine's Day
A sign of spring as near-blizzard conditions approach the region.
There was a natural burst of red in central Greenwich on Valentine’s Day.
Flocks of chubby American robins were feeding on berries fallen from the trees in Bruce Park on Saturday afternoon — seemingly oblivious to the flakes of snow gently falling around them.
The robins, which happen to be the state bird of Connecticut, better eat up quick. The snow will pile up later Saturday night and into Sunday in near blizzard-like conditions. (For the up-to-date weather forecast, click here.)

But then we can look at it this way, the robins are a sign that spring could be around the corner … well, almost around the corner. There are 34 days until the first day of spring on March 20.
If you’ve seen robins around town, tell us where in the comment section below.
