Louis Dafonte, 88; 'Baker Extraordinaire' Who Owned Homestyle Bakery in Cos Cob
Calling hours will be held Monday, Dec. 8 with a funeral scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Louis Dafonte, beloved husband of 62 years to Gloria, passed peacefully at home on December 5. He was 88.
He was born January 6, 1926, in New York City to the late Josephine and Gerardo Dafonte.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. A former Greenwich resident, Lou was owner and baker extraordinaire of Homestyle Bakery in Cos Cob. His retirement was spent enjoying time in Florida & Connecticut with his family & traveling back to Spain.
A loving husband, Daddy, & Poppy, he is survived by his wife, Gloria; his children: Anita Dafonte of Newtown, Teresa (John) Harrington of Easton, Louis Dafonte of Greenwich, & Carlos (Diane) Dafonte of Pennington, NJ; and his beloved eight grandchildren: Sara, Stephen, Jennifer, Cristina, Amanda, Carolyn, Thomas, & Michelle.

He is predeceased by his parents & sisters, Josephine and Mercedes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 9, at 11:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury. Calling hours: Monday, December 8, from 3:00-5:00 pm in the chapel of Sacred Heart Church. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main St. South, Southbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cerebral Palsy of Westchester, Rye Brook, NY, or Perkins School for the Blind, Watertown, MA.
