Man Faces Criminal Trespass Charge

Greenwich Police say the suspect was barred from being on Greenwich Housing Authority property.

A man is facing a criminal trespass charge after Greenwich Police checked on a car idling in a parking lot of the Armstrong Court apartment complex on Hamilton Avenue.

When police approached the car about 9:47 p.m. Feb. 19, officers detected the smell of marijuana, according to a police report. One of the occupants was issued an infraction ticket for possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana.

Police discovered that another occupant, identified as Clinton A. Birdsell, 27, of Hope Street in Stamford, was prohibited from being on Greenwich Housing Authority property. Birdsell was charged with first-degree criminal trespass. Bond was set at $500 and he was assigned a Feb. 27 court date in Stamford.
