Old Greenwich Resident Is Named President of Association of Fundraising Professionals
The development director of the Greenwich Sept. 11th Memorial will lead the organization's Fairfield County chapter.

Gervais Hearn, resident of Old Greenwich, will be the incoming President of the Board of Directors for the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Fairfield County for 2015.
The Association of Fundraising Professionals Fairfield County is a professional association of individuals responsible for generating philanthropic support for a wide variety of 2,800 nonprofit and charitable organizations in Fairfield County. The Association fosters education, development and growth of fundraising professionals. It is a member of AFP International.

Gervais is currently the Development Director of the September 11th Memorial/Greenwich. The organization’s mission is to honor the memory of the 32 people with ties to the Greenwich community who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001. This will be accomplished through the construction and maintenance of a new memorial, which will be accessible year round and will provide valuable educational resources to the community, especially its youth, about the meaning and impact of a time in US history that should always be remembered.
Previously, Ms. Hearn served as Director of Parish Development at Christ Church, Greenwich.

Ms. Hearn said, “I look forward to 2015, working with a strong Board and providing new initiatives that will grow our membership. We will offer excellent education programs and fun opportunities for networking.”
The AFP Fairfield County Chapter provides regular professional development opportunities and networking for those involved in fundraising, either vocationally or as volunteers. Monthly meetings with featured speakers are held the first Thursday of every month from September to June at The Norwalk Inn and Conference Center in Norwalk.
