Pair Faces Charges for Theft of $1,800 of Goods from CVS
Greenwich Police say a passenger in the getaway car was charged as a fugitive from justice.
Bags full of dental hygiene products, Rogaine and cell phones — worth than $1,800 were reported stolen from the CVS pharmacy in western Greenwich and Greenwich Police arrested two suspects moments after employees called 911 to report the theft Friday.
According to police, employees of the pharmacy at 644 W. Putnam Ave., called about 5:20 p.m. to report that a man dressed entirely in black, left the store with two red-colored bags filled with items that weren’t paid for. The man reportedly left in a white four-door car, according to the report.
One of the officers responding to the store, saw a white Toyota Camry on Old Field Point Road with occupants that matched the description of the thief, according to the report. When the officer went up to the car and saw a black jacket and “unopened products in yellow-and-red shopping bags. A search revealed the products were stolen from CVS,” according to the report.

During a search of the car, officers found a glass pipe for smoking crack cocaine whicih tested positive for cocaine, according to the report.
Two suspects were charged after video surveillance and an eyewitness identified one of the men as being in the store and stealing the goods that had a total value of $1,850, according to police.
Charged with third-degree larceny, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession was Ivan Miller, 51, of Norwich. His bond was set at $5,000. Brian F. Payton, 45, of Plainfield, NJ, who police said was driving the getaway car, was charged with third-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny. His bond was set at $20,000.
While police were searching the car, a passenger identified as Kim N. Duff, 36, of Queens, NY, also was arrested. A background check indicated that the New York City Police Department had a warrant charging her with “felony charges for dangerous drugs,” according to the police report. Duff was arrested on a fugitive from justice charge. Her bond was set at $50,000.
All of the suspects were held in police custody.
