Police: Two Bronx Men Foiled in Attempt to Get Drug with Forged Prescription

Two Bronx men tried to use a forged prescription to get drugs at a Greenwich pharmacy, police said.

Two Bronx men tried to get drugs with a forged prescription Tuesday at Walgreens Pharmacy at 1333 E. Putnam Ave., but police were alerted and arrested both of them, according to Greenwich police.

Police were told that the prescription appeared to be fraudulent, so they went to the store after the 3:46 p.m. call, where they found Jamarr Fowler, 33, and Kiani Henderson, 29. On further investigation, police said, they confirmed the prescription was fraudulent.

Fowler (Greenwich police arrest photo attached to this article), of 3082 Decatur Ave., was charged with second-degree forgery, criminal attempt to possess drugs, obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and interfering with police (police provided no information on the reason for that last charge). Police also charged him with conspiracy to commit: second-degree forgery, criminal attempt to possess drugs and obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.

Henderson, of 1125 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., was charged with conspiracy to commit: second-degree forgery, criminal attempt to possess drugs and obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.

Each was initially held on $5,000 bond and, if they made bond, were scheduled to appear Sept. 17 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
