Stanley J. Miody, 95; Retired Postal Carrier, Father of Cos Cob Resident

Stanley J. Miody passed away on Nov. 18, 2014 at his Stamford home. He was 95.

He was born on Dec. 15, 1918 to Benjamin and Mary Mioduszewski in Guttenberg, NJ.

During WWII he served as a pilot in the Army Air Corp. After the war he was a postal carrier for the US Postal Service for 37 years. After retiring from the US Postal Service he ran his own business, Stan’s Tree Care & Landscaping until 2010. Stanley was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and the Horticultural Society of Greenwich where he was recognized for his prized Dahlias.

Stanley was predeceased by his loving wife Claire of 68 years.

He is the beloved father of Janice ( Ray ) Wisnieski of Cos Cob, and Nancy ( James ) Morrison of Waterbury. Also survived by his sister Anne Boraski of Meadowlake, TX., five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Visitation at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich, from 4 to 8 P.M. Friday, Nov. 21. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 at St. Agnes Church, 247 Stanwich Rd., Greenwich. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, 399 North St., Greenwich.
