Stopped for Driving With Only 1 Headlight, Motorist Faces DUI Charge

Greenwich Police stopped the driver on West Putnam Avenue shortly after 4 a.m.

A driver is facing motor vehicle charges including driving under the influence after he was stopped by Greenwich Police for having an unlit headlight.

The driver was stopped about 4:10 a.m. Nov. 9 while he was eastbound on West Putnam Avenue, according to a police report. The man had an odor alcohol and red, glassy eyes and failed field sobriety tests, according to the report.

Police charged Janilson T. Demacedo, 29, of 77 Perry Ave., Port Chester, NY with operating under the influence, failure to maintain lane and failure to have light illuminated. Demacedo was released after posting a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear Nov. 24 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
