Suspect in Greenwich Jewelry Heist Skips Out

One of the men accused in the theft of Rolex watches reportedly didn't show up to serve his jail sentence; judge orders his rearrest.

One of the men arrested for the 2011 theft of Rolex watches from a Greenwich Avenue jeweler reportedly skipped out on his date to surrender for his jail sentence last week and a state Superior Court judge has ordered his rearrest.

Naquan Ferguson, 28, of Brooklyn, NY was to surrender Oct. 16 to begin a 8 1/2-year jail sentence after he pleaded guilty to robbery and larceny charges but he was an apparent no-show, according to The Advocate.

Ferguson pleaded guilty on Oct. 2 to first-degree robbery with a firearm, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and first-degree larceny in connection with the Sept. 23, 2011 robbery of Lux, Bond & Green jewelry store on Greenwich Avenue during which five Rolex watches worth more than $60,000 were stolen, according to the report and the Connecticut Judicial Branch website.

Ferguson, who was free on $200,000 bond, was given two weeks to get his affairs in order before starting his prison term. When he failed to show up at court, Judge Gary White issued a rearrest order for Ferguson and increased the bond to $1 million, according to the report which can be found here.
