What are the Best Restaurants in Greenwich? USA Today's 10Best Website Has a List

Rebecca’s is the best restaurant in Greenwich, according to USA Today’s 10Best website, which has a list of the top nine restaurants in town. But loads of other websites are scouring Greenwich to find the top spots, and the range of opinions doesn’t overlap much.

“Modern décor, an energetic atmosphere, and unique menu selections complement one another to create the chic and trendy environment that draws so many to this popular establishment,” according to the website.

Here are the other restaurants on the list, in the order they’re ranked on the website:

3. l’escale

4. Valbella Ristorante

5. Thomas Henkelmann

6. Mediterraneo

7. Elm Street Oyster House

8. Osteria Applausi (also known, including on its own website, as Applausi Osteria, but both names are widely used)

9. Pasta Vera

The website also has rankings of what it says are the town’s best Italian restaurants (Valbella, Terra Ristorante Italiano Mediterraneo top their list, in that order), best spots for brunch (l’escale, Winfield’s and Elm Street Oyster House are the top three), and best places to have lunch (top three from that list: Winfield’s, Versailles Bistro & Patisserie and Abis).

Other Greenwich restaurant rankings

There’s very little consensus among restaurant-rating websites about the best restaurants in town (but see Zagat’s ratings, which overlap with 10Best quite a bit), although some names do pop up again and again:

According to Yelp, which relies on customer/reader reviews, the highest-rated restaurants in Greenwich look a lot different. That site’s top 9: (1) Burgers, Shakes & Fries; (2) Piero’s; (3) Char; (4) Elm Street Oyster House; (5) Coals (in Port Chester, NY); (6) El Charrito; (7) Thai Basil; (8) Accuario (in Port Chester); and (9) Hubba’s (in Port Chester).

Here are the top ten (nine, if you don’t include St. Moritz Bakery] from Trip Advisor’s best-restaurants list (out of 144 places reviewed in Greenwich): (1) Blackstone’s Steakhouse; (2) Thomas Henkelmann; (3) Famous Greek Kitchen; (4) Barcelona Restaurant; (5) Gabriele’s Italian Steakhouse; (6) Pizza Post; (7) Mediterraneo; (8) Le Penguin; (9) [St. Moritz Bakery, which doesn’t seem to be a restaurant]; (10) Organic Planet.
