WOW House: Marvin Hamlisch's Dream Estate
The late, great composer planned to retire to the Bedford estate, before his passing in 2012.
The Houlihan Lawrence listing for 168 Hook Road in Bedford has something special—a video soundtrack of Marvin Hamlisch music.
That's because the house was to be his retirement haven.
He and his wife Terre Blair bought it in 2011, and it rapidly morphed from a weekend place in Westchester to the year-round residence the two completely renovated, Blair told the Wall Street Journal. But Hamlisch died in 2012 at 68.
Broker David Turner calls the 4-bedroom house on 13+ acres a "private hilltop paradise set upon one of Westchester's highest points." It's on sale for $7,950,000.
By the way, the soundtrack is a glorious solo jazz piano version of "Nobody Does it Better" arranged and performed by Peter Dugan.
