YMCA of Greenwich Lights Up Central Greenwich

YMCA Hosts Several Local Clergy Members at Annual Tree Lighting Celebration.

The YMCA of Greenwich celebrated the holiday season with their annual tree lighting Monday night. In true holiday spirit, Greenwich local Tony Galazin donated the tree, which now lights up Central Greenwich.

This year was a particularly special celebration for the YMCA as clergy members from 4 local religious organizations addressed the crowd with holiday blessings and inspirations. Students from the YMCA After School Program at St. Roch Avenue also helped spread the Holiday cheer, entertaining the group with modern renditions of several classic Christmas Carols.

The YMCA of Greenwich was founded more than 98 years ago in 1916. Today, it is the largest community-based organization in Greenwich with more than 5,000 members dedicated to healthy living, youth development and social responsibility through athletics and life-long learning programs in order to nurture the potential of all in our community.
