Police Find Woman Dead At Groton Hotel: Report

Police said they are investigating after finding a woman dead at a Groton hotel.

GROTON, CT — Police said they are investigating after finding a woman dead at a Groton hotel Friday morning, according to media reports. Police said they are treating the case as an untimely death, and there is no threat to the public.

According to the New London Day, officers responded to the Ramada Inn on King's Highway around 7:24 a.m. after receiving a report of a person not breathing. The unresponsive adult woman was subsequently located and pronounced dead at the scene.

Members of the Poquonnock Bridge Fire Department, Groton Ambulance and Lawrence & Memorial Hospital medics also responded to the scene, according to NBC Connecticut. Police said the woman's identity is being withheld pending notification of her family.
