WATCH: Hamden Firefighters Extinguish Truck Fire in Front of School

Responding emergency crews found the pickup truck fully engulfed in flames on Friday afternoon.

HAMDEN, CT – Hamden firefighters quickly doused a pickup truck that was fully engulfed in flames in front of Shephard Glen School on Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded around 2:30 p.m. and found a fully involved pickup truck with no exposure to other vehicles, according to Deputy Chief Gary Merwede.

Merwede said it was quickly determined that there was no danger to students and the school administration delayed dismissal.

The Hamden Police Department held traffic on Skiff Street Extension and Howard Drive to assist with public safety.

No injuries were reported or observed at the scene.

Hamden Deputy Fire Marshal Tim Lunn is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
