Hamden Police Seek Male Driver Accused of Hitting Disabled Pedestrian, Fleeing Scene
Hamden police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man accused of hitting a disabled woman with his car and fleeing the scene Friday morning.

The unidentified woman, 47, was standing near the entrance of Krauser's around 6:30 a.m. attempting to cross State Street and when she did so, she was struck by a Nissan, according to a police press release.

The woman suffered several injuries, including a fractured vertebra and multiple lacerations. She was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment.

Police say the male operator of the vehicle exited the car and spoke with the victim. He then entered his vehicle and left the scene of the accident.

Police say they were unable to obtain any additional information about the vehicle or the driver.

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the operator of the vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Peter Conti at (203) 230-4000.
