Update: Hamden Residents Choose Next Mayor (with Results)

Democrat Curt Balzano Leng, Republican Bob Anthony and Independent George Levinson are vying for the town's top spot.

According to unofficial results, Leng received 3,612 total votes while Anthony had 2,509 and Levinson garnered 454.

Hamden has elected Chief Administrative Officer Curt Balzano Leng to be its next mayor and finish former Mayor Scott Jackson’s term.

Hamden residents have until 8 p.m. tonight to cast their votes in the special election to select the town’s next mayor.

Democrat, and current chief administrative officer, Curt Balzano Leng is squaring off against Republican Bob Anthony, a retired Hamden firefighter, and independent candidate George Levinson, a retired engineer.

We’ll bring you updates throughout the night on who will be Hamden’s next mayor.

Former Mayor Scott Jackson officially resigned on April 16 for a position with the state’s Office of Policy and Management and Legislative Council President James Pascarella is serving as the town’s acting mayor.

The following polling places are open until 8 p.m. on Thursday:

  • District 1: Miller Library, 2901 Dixwell Ave
  • District 2: Helen St. School, 285 Helen St
  • District 3: Keefe Comm. Center, 11 Pine St
  • District 4: Spring Glen School 1908 Whitney Ave
  • District 5: Board of Education Bldg. 60 Putnam Ave
  • District 6: Ridge Hill School, 120 Carew Rd
  • District 7: Dunbar Hill School, 315 Lane St
  • District 8: Bear Path School, 10 Kirk Rd
  • District 9: West Woods School, 350 West Todd St

District 1 Polling Place in Miller Library is outside of the Voting District, and is located in District 4, the adjacent district. The above polling places are accessible to persons with disabilities. Voting machines will be used.

The polls will be opened at 6 a.m. and will remain open until 8 p.m. Central Counting of absentee ballots will be held at Hamden Government Center, 2750 Dixwell Avenue.
