Quinnipiac Students Charged with Destroying Tree During Frozen Four Celebration
Several students were reportedly breaking tree limbs to start a bonfire while celebrating the hockey team's playoff win on Thursday night.

HAMDEN, CT — Two Quinnipiac students were charged with breaking tree limbs while celebrating the hockey team’s 3-2 victory over Boston College in the NCAA Division I Frozen Four on Thursday night.
More than 800 students gathered in the area of Bobcat Way following the win and several students were climbing on trees and deliberately breaking limbs, according to Sgt. Anthony Diaz.
Q30 Television, the university’s new channel, reports that during the celebration confetti cannons were blasted into the air, trees were covered and toilet paper but then the trees were torn apart to start a bonfire.
Maxime Fiesen, 18, and Robert S. Amonica, 18, were both charged with first-degree criminal mischief and were released on written promises to appear in court.
They are scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on April 21.
