East Catholic High School Students Honored at Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders

They were honored in Boston.

MANCHESTER, CT — East Catholic High School has announced that Bridget O’Connor, a junior; and James Plante, a senior represented East Catholic High School and the State of Connecticut at the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders this past June.

Both students received awards at a ceremony in Boston. They were commended for their outstanding academic performance, leadership potential and dedication to serving humanity through science, technology, engineering or math.

James, a Coventry resident, is a member of the Engineering Team, Tri-M Music Society and performs with the school’s jazz band, concert band and stage band. He is also the editor of the school newspaper and a member of the National Honor Society.

Bridget, who resides in Ashford, is a member of the ECHS Field Hockey and ice hockey team. She is also a member of the Tri-M Music Society and performs with the concert band and jazz combo.

The Congress is an honors-only program for high school students who want to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering or mathematic fields. The purpose of this event is to honor, inspire and motivate these top students to stay true to their dream and provide a path for them to reach their goal.
