Connecticut Loves to Read Day

Connecticut Loves to Read Day is an event to promote literacy among local families and to raise money for the Read to Grow organization. All local families are encouraged to come and listen to Manchester Mayor Lou Spadaccini, local teachers, principals, and police officers read aloud their favorite children's books. Additionally, kids can vote for their favorite books, meet the Cat in the Hat, design their own bookmarks, and win Barnes & Noble giftcards with a drawing every 15 minutes.

The Greater Hartford Area Council of the Connecticut Reading Association, the sponsor of this event, hopes to
rally parents and their families to realize the importance of reading with children and collectively celebrate our love of literacy.  Vouchers will be available on site.
