Roadwork on I-84 West in Manchester

The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced that it will conduct a resurfacing project on I-84 Westbound in Vernon, South Windsor and Manchester from the evening of Oct. 7 to Oct. 12.

The project consists of a thin surface treatment of a 4.25 mile segment of I-84 westbound between Exit 66 in Vernon and Exit 60 in Manchester, according to a press release.

Workers will use traffic control personnel and signing patterns to guide motorists through the work zone.

The regular work schedule for the project is 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Sunday through Thursday).

"Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions," the release said. "Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity."
