Your Take: Red Sox Fire Bobby Valentine - Problem Solved?

To the surprise of no one, the  Boston Red Sox on Thursday fired manager Bobby Valentine.

According to ESPN.com, "Our 2012 season was disappointing for many reasons," Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington said. "No single issue is the reason, and no single individual is to blame. We've been making personnel changes since August, and we will continue to do so as we build a contending club."

Valentine is a native of Stamford. His firing comes on the heels of a dismal season that saw the Red Sox finish in last place in the American League East and fail to make the playoffs for the second time in two years.

Cherington said he will lead the search for Boston's next manager.

What's your take? Was Bobby Valentine the problem? And if you're a Yankee fan, how much are you enjoying this?
