Park Plans Progress in Meriden

The project includes redirecting Harbor Brook.

Park Plans Progress in Meriden

La Rosa Construction, who was hired by Meriden to build a park on a vacant former commercial site that is designed to help control flooding, reports that the project is progressing as planned, the Meriden Record Journal reports.

A portion of the 14-acre parcel will also be set aside for economic development purposes. A major part of the project is redirecting Harbor Brook, which has flowed through an underground culvert at the Hub since the 1950. That work is estimated to take another two months, the Record Journal reported.

Some neighbors living in the Mills Memorial Apartments have complained of excessive dust coming from the project and the large mounds of dirt there, the paper reports.
