Freeze Warning For Middlesex County

We could see frost on the ground Saturday morning, but the rest of the day is expected to be sunny with a high near 51 degrees.

Freeze Warning For Middlesex County

A freeze warning is in effect from late Friday night through Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Saturday morning could bring widespread frost, the NWS says. Temperatures could drop low enough to kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, the NWS says. Now is the time to get out there and bring in your houseplants — or make yourself a note to do so as soon as you arrive home.

Underground root vegetables should be safe, as should hearty mums.

The extended forecast for Middletown is as follows:

Friday: Partly sunny. A chance of showers this afternoon. Highs in the mid 50s. West winds 10 to 15 mph...becoming northwest this afternoon. Chance of rain 30 percent.

Saturday: High: 53° Sunny. Highs in the lower 50s. North winds around 5 mph...becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon. Low: 41° Partly cloudy in the evening...then mostly cloudy with a slight chance of rain after midnight. Not as cool with lows in the mid 40s. South winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Sunday: High: 68° Cloudy with a chance of rain in the morning...then partly sunny in the afternoon. Not as cool with highs in the upper 60s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent. Low: 54°
