Middletown Arrests: Jan. 5-18

Middletown Police report the following incidents:

Jan. 18

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — Brandon A. Bell, 29, of no certain address, was seen loitering in the breezeway of the Bottom 2 Top clothing store on Main Street with two other men with an open bottle of alcohol, according to the report. Bell was found with an outstanding warrant.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, RISK OF INJURY TO CHILD — At 10:54 a.m., police were called to the 500 block of Main Street about a dispute over a Dodge Neon owned by Flordaliz Lugo, 36, of East Main Street, according to the report, but it turned out to be a verbal disagreement. At 11:52 a.m., police were again called to the area, this time by Lugo who said the Neon was stolen yet it was parked in the same area and she was standing nearby on a sidewalk screaming. The report says Lugo yelled at officers that her daughter had stolen her car and they saw her try to punch her daughter who was holding her own child. Lugo admitted her actions to police, adding she is on medication for anxiety issues and was angry after hearing someone call her a name, then apologized.

Jan. 17

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT — Rachel Eimutis, 68, was involved in a physical fight with her sister Ann Monthei, 75, both of Newfield Street, according to the report, who moved into Eimutis' home in October after moving from California. Police say Eimutis wouldn't allow Monthei to attend their nephew's wake, which precipitated the argument, and caused them to swear at each other and Monthei to punch her sister.

The report says Eimutis slammed her sister to the ground in retaliation, causing her to have breathing trouble and police sent her to Middlesex Hospital. Both were charged.

At 9:20 p.m., hospital staff called police to say Monthei had a broken rib and was being admitted for pain management, according to the report.

UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, SUSPENDED LICENSE — At 11:30 a.m., Shaina Velez, 19, of Town Colony Drive came into police headquarters about a search and seizure warrant for a Mercedes she is known to drive, according to the report, and repeatedly lied to officers about it. She walked out to Main Street, police say, and got into a gray Mercedes parked across the street from the police station and drove away without wearing a seatbelt. Velez reportedly told detectives she received the Mercedes as a high school graduation gift in June.

Jan. 16

SUSPENDED REGISTRATION — At 7:54 p.m., police saw a Toyota 4 Runner parked on St. John's Street with a suspended registration and moments later, Dionisio Lopez, 36, of Warwick Street, drove it away, according to the report. He told officers he was unaware of the suspension, police say.

The victim said she was downstairs in the bedroom and heard a loud noise upstairs, went up and saw the kitchen table lying on the floor, according to the report, with Hoffman unable to explain why it was there. Police say she took their 20-month-old twin boys to her mother's home because of Hoffman's erratic behavior and told officers him drinking is "out-of-the-ordinary."
