Milford, CT (April 2016) - Twentieth Annual Mother’s Day Race to Benefit Hospital Programs. There’s still time for runners, walkers and community partners to participate in Milford Hospital’s 20th Annual Mother’s Day "Live Well" Race on Sunday, May 8th, 2016. The 5K Run / Walk is presented by Oncology Hematology Care of Connecticut and Subway Restaurants, along with “Live Well” partners Connecticut Orthopedic Specialists, Milford Vascular Institute, Gastroenterology Center of Connecticut, Patel Podiatry Family Foot Care & Surgery and Cardiac Specialists.

After record registration last year, hospital officials expect more than 600 individuals to take part in the run / walk. The race begins at 9:00am and starts and finishes at Milford Hospital, 300 Seaside Avenue in Milford. It follows a scenic, seaside course through the Fort Trumbull area. Chip timing technology will track the runners. In 2015, Matt Santillo of New Haven was the top male finisher with a time of 17:25 and Colleen Beirne of Milford was the top female finisher with a time of 20:39. This year, awards will be given to the top three males and females in each age group, the top Milford Hospital employees and a new award this year for the top mother / child team finisher. 100% of race proceeds support the many community health and wellness programs, cancer and prevention screenings and educational programs and materials offered by Milford Hospital throughout the year.
