With the closing of the Blockbuster Video on Cherry Street, there are no more video stores in Milford. With so many other ways to watch movies, do you care? And what business should fill Blockbuster's vacant space?

What a shame? Or good riddance? While we can all agree that --and to a much lesser extent, --are elements of a great community, what about a nice video store? Or any video store for that matter?

Video Plaza, Video Hut, Tommy K's: They're all long gone. The story used to be that independent video stores couldn't compete with the global chain of Blockbuster Video. But now, Blockbuster has lost at its own game to greater competitors in the home viewing marketplace.

Local Voices contributor  recently mourned . Do you join him in this feeling? Or are you glad to be done with all of those late fees? Are Redbox, Netflix, and the myriad of On Demand and Streaming content just as good or do you miss the personal experience of a video store?
