Mayor Blake: Milford Mourns the Loss of One of Its Own

Milford Mayor Ben Blake said Jonathan Law High School will be open and counseling services will be available throughout the weekend, after the stabbing death of junior Maren Sanchez on Friday morning.

The following is an official statement from Milford Mayor Ben Blake  regarding the death of  Maren Sanchez, a junior Jonathan Law High School Junior.

Our hearts go out to the family of Maren Sanchez, the sixteen year old junior at Jonathan Law High School who passed away this morning, and to those also affected by this tragedy.

I would like to assure all residents of Milford that today’s incident was an isolated event.  

This is an active criminal investigation and the Police Department will provide updated information as it becomes available.  

Jonathan Law High School will be open and counseling services will be available throughout the weekend.  

I encourage students, staff, alumni and members of the community to take advantage of these resources.
