A Forest Road woman complained about harassing phone calls from a company called I.C. Systems.

UPDATE: Police Reports: Company Keeps On Calling

Update:

1:49 p.m. — Eric Johannes, project manager in marketing for I.C. System Inc., was notified about the police blotter item on Monroe Patch today and sent this email response:

"We wanted to take the time to convey to you and your readers that we certainly are a legitimate company. We conduct business nationwide and provide a fully staffed Consumer Help Website that should help answer any questions. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns."

Johannes also left these links: www.icsytem.com or www.icsystemconsumer.com

A 30-year-old Forest Road woman told police Monday that the company I.C. System called her home phone on Jan. 23 and multiple times since. At one point a caller told her a debt collector was looking for someone from 87 Rolling Point Road, but no town was given, according to the report.

said she was also asked for the last four digits of her Social Security number, which she did not give out. She told them to stop calling, but kept getting calls. The Forest Road woman is blocking the number.

The phone number, (202) 367-9252, is from a Washington D.C. exchange, police said, adding an officer called it and heard a generic recorded message that did not identify the company before the line disconnected.

Monroe Patch called the number and, after being on hold, a woman answered identifying the company as I.C. System. When asked what the company does, she declined to answer any questions without getting information herself.

Police said a Google search revealed numerous complaints about I.C. System.

A search shows the company is reportedly a debt collection agency for a credit card. Among some posted complaints are:

"This number calls me night and day asking for a person that i have aleady told them 100 times doesnt live here. I'm very fustrated and would like something to be done"

"This IC peopel call repeatly on a daily basis asking form some we do not know and have repeatly asked to be removed. They say ok and call back."

Whether or not this is legit, Patch found a website for I.C. System. It says it's "a family-owned business that was founded in 1938 in St. Paul, Minnesota" with "offices in Iowa, North Dakota, and Wisconsin." It says it is a collection agency. There is also a toll free help line to file complaints: 800-279-9048.

Here is a link to an overview of the company from the Minnesota and North Dakota Better Business Bureau.
