Saws, a Leaf Blower Stolen in Commercial Burglary

A Commercial Burglary

Police are investigating a commercial burglary at Summit Construction on Enterprise Drive. On Dec. 5, the business reported that a rear door was pried open and around 15 chainsaws, a leaf blower and a priming saw were stolen.

The theft took place sometime between 8 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 7 a.m. on Dec. 5.

Credit Card Fraud

A Monroe woman told police she received a Visa credit card in the mail that she had never applied for. She canceled the card and police said no charges had been made on it.

Social Security Number's Out There

A concerned Arbor Road woman told police Dec. 6 that a health insurance company called to ask her if she was employed by Premier Maintenance in Milford — she's not. The reason why she was called was because her Social Security number was on record at the company, according to the report.

When she called the company, she was told her name is not on record, but they did find an entry in their system with a Social Security number that matched hers, police said, adding the company said it appeared to be a computer error.

Police said there were no unauthorized charges on the woman's credit cards.

Click It or Ticket

Police issued over 27 fines for failure to wear a seat belt last week as part of the national Click-It-or-Ticket campaign.
