Police: Drunken Man at KFC Had Illegal Gun

A local man accused of yelling and swearing at someone in the parking lot of KFC on Bridge Street during a drunken tirade Saturday was found to have a pistol in his car, police said.

Police found Jonathon Klish, 40, of 125 Park Ave., in his vehicle with a Colt 380 handgun in the center console of the car; the serial number was scratched off and Klish did not have a permit to carry handguns, according to a police report. Nobody was injured during the incident.

Klish was charged with criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, threatening, breach of peace, alteration of firearm ID markings, number or name, and weapons in a motor vehicle.

He was held on a $15,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned Monday at Waterbury Superior Court.

Victor Diaz, 39, of 260 High St., Naugatuck, was charged with criminal violation of a protective order and fist-degree criminal trespass on April 5. He is accused of entering the victim's home and changing the code on the alarm system in an attempt to annoy the victim, according to a police report. He was released on a $25,000 bond and was scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court Monday.

David Powell, 28, of 15 City Hill St., was charged with disorderly conduct following a fight, during which he is accused of pushing and shoving a male victim, according to a police report.

Philip Semon, 46, of 15 City Hill St., was was charged with disorderly conduct following a fight, during which he is accused of pushing and shoving a male victim, according to a police report.

Jacob Uva, 22, of 40 Avalon Drive, Milford, was charged with second-degree failure to appear.

James Brookins, 54, of 32 Summerfield St., Naugatuck, was charged with second-degree failure to appear.

David Lepeska, 18, of 304 Pinerock Ave., Hamden, was charged with failure to respond to an infraction.

Nicholas Garcia, 24, of 102 Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged with third-degree assault and failure to respond to an infraction after being accused of striking two females, causing bruising, according to a police report.

Julio Zambrana, 27, of 154 Park St., Bristol, was charged with second-degree failure to appear in court.

Yaneth Thomas, 31, of 111 Mallane Lane, Naugatuck, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol after police pulled him over for not having proper lights on the car he was drivin at 3:25 a.m. on Sunday, April 7, on Church Street, according to a police report. He was released on a $500 non-surety bond and will be arraigned April 18 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Steven Benz, 55, of 108 Clark Road, Naugatuck, wa charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and operating an unregistered motor vehicle after being pulled over at 8:10 p.m. on New Haven Road for failure to drive in the proper lane, according to a police report. He was released on a $500 non-surety bond and will be arraigned April 18 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Jami Wallisa, 24, of 52 Summerfield St., Naugatuck, was charged with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

The above arrests are public record at the Naugatuck Police Department. Those arrested are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
