Man, 23, Drowns In Sylvan Lake, Friend Tried To Save Him: Report

A friend details how he tried to save the victim.

WATERTOWN, CT — Very sad news to share this morning as a 23-year-old Waterbury man drowned while swimming in Sylvan Lake in Watertown Thursday afternoon, according to media reports. Isaiah Anderson, 23, was pronounced dead later on Thursday after crews found his body in the water, NBC Connecticut reports.

The area had a no swimming sign posted. A friend of the victim details in an emotional interview how he tried to save his friend but couldn't.

""If he doesn't make it, I feel like it's my fault," the friend said, according to WTNH News 8. "I had a hold of him. That's what kills me."
