***** Don't forget to vote this Tuesday 7/12 from 6am-8pm at the Naugatuck Senior Center ***********

TAXPAYERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VOTE NO ON TOWN OPERATING BUDGET ON JULY 12, 2016

Due to the resolution of the dispute at the wastewater treatment plant and the finalization of other revenue items in the 2016/2017 borough operating budget, I will be presenting a revised budget to the finance board with a 2.5 mill tax reduction, reducing the mill rate from 49.74 mills to 47.24 mills.

This decrease will only happen if the voters reject the town operating budget at the referendum on July 12, 2016. I encourage all voters to vote NO on the town operating budget.

Failure to obtain enough votes on July 12, 2016 means that the higher tax rate will be in place for the entire year. The choice is clear cut. Vote NO or pay a higher tax.

I realize that it is summer and many people may be away. Absentee ballots are available for the referendum until July 11, 2016 during normal business hours of 8:30-4pm at The Borough Clerks Office on the 4th floor of the Naugatuck Town Hall. Please feel free to direct any additional questions to the Mayor’s Office , 203-720-7009.
