The Naugatuck Fire Department in light of yesterday’s fatal train accident released the following public service announcement on their Facebook page.

“Difficult call last night involving a person hit and killed by a Metro North train. It is unknown why the person was near or on the tracks. Please stay away from the tracks. You will not hear a train until it is to late. The rails do not make a clicking sound like you hear in movies or TV shows.

Naugatuck firefighters, Naugatuck Fire Police, as well as Naugatuck Ambulance, Naugatuck PD, and Metro North PD and train crews responded. The FD and the ambulance crew assisted 230 people in evacuating the train.”
