Several Roads Likely to Remain Closed During Evening Commute as Naugatuck Fire Crews Battle Blaze: VIDEO

Fire crews are on the scene battling a blaze Wednesday. Several road closures were announced.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck police say several roads listed below will likely remain closed through the evening commute as fire screws are still on the scene at Maple Street as of 3:15 p.m.

"As stated earlier, please review the road closures and utilize alternate routes, avoiding the Maple Street area near South Main / Oak Street / Carroll Street areas to ensure that you will not run into detours and delays," said Police Lt. Bryan Cammarata.

Maple Street @ South Main -

Route 8 south Exit at Maple is OPEN - However, traffic CANNOT access Maple Street East of the bridge/Route 8

Maple Street - is closed between South Main and Carroll Street.

Oak Street - is closed between Maple Street and High Street

Carroll Street - is CLOSED at Central Ave

Central Ave - Closed

*RESIDENTS OF CLOSED ROADS CAN ACCESS THIER HOMES IN MOST CASES - OFFICERS WILL ALLOW ACCESS UPON REQUEST IF ALLOWABLE


NAUGATUCK, CT — Police Lt. Bryan Cammarata reports with words, video and photos that the Fire Department is on the scene of an active fire at 149 Maple St. Wednesday morning.

Several nearby roads are closed while fire crews battle the blaze, Cammarata said. No injuries were reported.
