Car Fire Temporarily Closed Merritt Parkway In New Canaan
The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon just before 2 p.m.
NEW CANAAN, CT — A car fire temporarily closed the Merritt Parkway northbound near exit 36 in New Canaan on Tuesday afternoon, according to officials. The thruway has since been reopened.
Patch reader Carole Crum posted about the incident on New Canaan Patch with the following description:
"Car Fire on Merritt North by Exit 36 Old Stamford Road," Crum wrote. "Everyone got out, fire took 10 minutes to extinguish. Road was shut down for approximately 25 minutes."
