LiveGirl Provides Connections For Middle School Girls

New Canaan, CT, October 29, 2015- LiveGirl founder and president, Sheri West, recently presented plans for their non-profit program’s expanded programming to Kiwanis members.

LiveGirl is a program that brings middle school-aged girls from Bridgeport, Stamford, Norwalk and New Canaan together through year-round sports and leadership activities such as Camp LiveGirl, LiveGirl Leadership Summits, and mentoring groups.

LiveGirl provides free programming for girls from Wakeman Boys & Girls (Bridgeport), Trumbull Gardens Housing (Trumbull), the Carver Center (Norwalk), Norwalk Housing Authority, and Stamford Boys and Girls. They focus primarily on middle-school age girls since studies have shown the middle school years are critical to forming a positive self concept.

“Magic happens when you bring communities together. The girls realize how much they have in common and become fast friends. They feed each other confidence and perspective that is life-changing,” according to Ms. West.
