MTA: New Ticket Validity and Refund Policy

Commuters will be pleased to see the validity of tickets increase from two weeks to two months.

MTA: New Ticket Validity and Refund Policy

Beginning September 4, the validity of one-way and round-trip tickets will be extended from 14 days to 60 days (includes day of purchase), and the refund period for those tickets is being extended from 30 days to 60 days from purchase date.

Ten-trip tickets will remain valid for six months. The period during which a ten-trip ticket is refundable is being lengthened from 30 days to six months (includes day of purchase) to match the validity period.

The $10 refund processing fee will remain in effect.

This new policy applies to tickets purchased on or after September 4.

See the MTA website for the full list of fares.
