Gallery Hours: Wednesday – Saturday, 10 am – 3 pm; Sunday, 1 – 5pm

The Art of the Vehicle Symposium on Thursday, April 30, 6:30 pm, at the Carriage Barn Arts Center will explore the multi-faceted interrelationship between motoring vehicles and fine art with a panel discussion with noted experts moderated by automotive expert and curator Marianne Brunson Frisch. The panelists include: Kent Bain, automobile restorer, Automotive Restorations, Inc.; Buzz Kanter, motorcycle collector and publisher of American Iron Magazine and Motorcycle Rides & Culture; Chris Osborne, artist; Alan Sosnowitz, automobile designer and artist; and Doug Zumbach, collector, racer and Caffeine & Carburetors founder and organizer. Children’s Car Creations: Art Workshops: Sunday, April 26th and May 3rd, from 2 - 3:30 pm
Two workshops for children ages 7-12 will be offered by the artist and teacher Nancy Scranton. Gen Re, the Kiwanis Club of New Canaan, the Newcomers Club, and the Rotary Club of New Canaan are sponsoring these workshops, which will be held at the Carriage Barn Arts Center. Artist’s Talk and Coffee: Three Painters’ Perspectives on the Art of the Vehicle Saturday, May 9th, at 11 am. Free and open to the public. Join us for a talk with three exhibiting painters: Allan Gorman, Lara Ivanovic, and Ken Scaglia

Caffeine and Carburetors Children’s Workshop: May 10th, 8 - 11:30 am, at the Carriage Barn Arts Center. Led by teacher Nancy Scranton, no need to register, just show up!
Due to these special morning hours, the gallery will be closed on the afternoon of May 10th.

Va Va Vroom! The Art of the Vehicle, on view from Sunday, April 19th through Sunday, June 14th, 2015, features contemporary paintings, drawings, photographs and sculptures by 35 artists from Connecticut and New York as well as vintage advertising posters, motorcycles and car models. This group art show honors the history and original function of the 19th-century Carriage Barn in Waveny Park.
