DUI Driver Hits Multiple Parked Cars: New London Police
Police say the man struck four cars before finally deciding to stop his vehicle. He initially refused to stop, police said.

NEW LONDON, CT — An allegedly drunk driver is accused of hitting multiple parked cars in New London early Saturday, police said.
At 2:02 a.m. New London Police were alerted to a motor vehicle accident that resulted in a parked vehicle that was struck by another vehicle in the area of Connecticut Avenue and Garfield Avenue, police said in a news release.
As officers began arriving on scene, they observed the offending vehicle strike two more parked cars on Connecticut Avenue and continue driving toward Cedar Grove Avenue, police said.

Officers attempted to stop the offending vehicle but the operator, later identified as Antonio Ajpop-Cor, 22, of Broad Street, disobeyed the officers' signals to pull over, police said in a statement. Officers continued to follow the vehicle onto Broad Street, Ledyard Street, and back onto Cedar Grove Avenue where the vehicle collided with a fourth parked car, police said.
Ajpop-Cor continued back onto Connecticut Avenue where he eventually decided to stop his vehicle, police said. No injuries were sustained during the incident.

Ajpop-Cor, was taken into custody and charged with the following:
Operating While Under the Influence of Drugs and/or Alcohol, Engaging an Officer in Pursuit, Reckless Driving, Failure to Drive Right, Evading Responsibility, Operating Without a License, and Failure to Carry Insurance.
Ajpop-Cor is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond and an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer, police said.
