Mosquitoes Test Positive for West Nile Virus Near New London
Residents are advised by Ledge Light Health District to take precautions against mosquito bites.

WATERFORD, CT – Mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile virus in Waterford, prompting a warning from Ledge Light Health District, as reported by The Day.
The mosquitoes that tested positive were trapped on Aug. 31 in a wooded area near the New London-Waterford line, according to The Day. Ledge Light said they were found in the same location last year.
Residents are advised to take precautions against mosquito bites, The Day reported. A Milford man in April has been the only reported case of West Nile virus this year.
