New Milford Train Derailment Closes Roads: Police

NEW MILFORD, CT — A six-car train derailment has closed River Road near RoosterTail Hollow Tuesday, police announced Tuesday morning.

Officials responded to the derailment at 9:58 p.m. Monday night, and found that a cargo only train had derailed. five cars actually derailed and one partially tipped over, according to police.

There were no hazardous materials involved and none of the cargo was dislodged from the rail cars.

The road will be closed until further notice, Police say.
